Give yourself about a month of shock and let in friends and family to support you. Let a key person or people take care of you. Seriously, a dear friend having you spend the night or coming over with you is Huge.
So after a month of secretly hoping the nightmare will end you get to pull it together. And BTW its not a nightmare- its a change to get the life you want and to stop wondering- "Is this all there is?
Phase 1- Get physically healthy: Set a diet and exercise routine to get you doing activity and get endorphins (natural antidepressant) into your system. A friend said if he was going to be divorced and 50- he sure wasn't going to be fat too! Harsh- but getting fit makes you feel good and it helps turn off your mind.
